They want them stripped of their basic human rights and reduced to slaves for Corporate America and the White Race. They are engaged in blatant class warfare. It is evil, pure and simple......" (click the link below to see full statement)

open letter in The Arizona Republic), Oberst mentioned a similar bill in small-town Nebraska, his home state.
“Just this past week, the little town of Fremont Nebraska passed a very similar, almost more radical, city ordinance. It was co-authored and championed by Kris Kobach of Kansas who helped write SB1070. I was outraged, saddened and embarrassed for their town and my state,â€

Here's the story from the Lincoln Journal Star newspaper:

    Concert for Equality

"Concert For Equality: Fight the Fremont Law!" will take place July 31 in downtown Benson, the club-filled Omaha neighborhood.

Spearheaded by Conor Oberst, the concert was organized to protest the recently passed Fremont city ordinance that bans undocumented immigrants from renting or working in the city.

It will feature Bright Eyes, Cursive, the reformed Desaparecidos and Lullaby for the Working Class -- all early fixtures on the Omaha/Saddle Creek indie-rock scene.

When the concert was announced earlier this month, more acts were expected to join the show. According to the One Percent Productions website, Gillian Welch and David Rawlings will be part of concert as well.

There actually will be two shows that day: an outdoor event at 5 p.m. and a late-night indoor show at The Waiting Room. Tickets for the daytime show are $20 and are available at www.onepercentproductions.com. The late-night show is sold out.

Proceeds from the concert will go to ACLU Nebraska, which is preparing a lawsuit to fight the Fremont ordinance.

I just want to say that these bands are not anti-American. They are just against people in America who refuse to see the big picture and therefore make bad laws that hurt thousands of people. That's all.

There is a nicer way of doing this you know?

Instead of kicking these desperate souls out of America who have built a sunny life here and raised a family in a safe country, Why don't we just secure our borders? Wouldn't it be more humane to prevent them from coming here in the first place instead of separating them from their families and firing them from their jobs?

But we shouldn't care about these people because they are "illegals" right?

You are on the wrong website, these people are foreign criminals who have stolen their "sunny life" from Americans and legal immigrants. The borders cannot be secured as long as their are the jobs and benefits you think they should have. But hey you are welcome to give everything you own to them so they can "have a better life".

I do agree we should not separate families, since the citizenship of any children they had here was Unconstitutionally granted, it should be permanently revoked so the entire family can leave together.

    Concert for Equality
Actually they are fighting for racism, illegal immigration benefits 100 Mexicans and Central Americans for every Asian, African, European, and South American who benefits. If they wanted equality they would support the Fremont and Arizona laws.

Mango - Really? These bands are NOT Anti-American? Did you not read Conor Oberst's anti-american, anti-white comments? These bands are raising funds for an organization who profits from illegal immigration and who oppose AMERICANS.

Really, don't you think the illegal aliens should have thought about their families being torn apart BEFORE they snuck across the border, stole an Americans ID, stole and Americans job, and stole Americans' benefits and services? Oh, wait a minute. But many of them have already broken up their families by leaving them in their home country so they could come here and start a NEW family.

Oh and by the way, I don't hear anyone crying over the Americans who go to prison for breaking the law and his family is broken up. I guess that's just different huh? Just screw the Americans! eh?

Yes, all of the ultra liberal compassion for the illegal aliens but NONE for the Americans who are paying the price for illegal immigration. Hey, maybe you could ask the families of Nebraska citizens who have been killed by illegal aliens what they think? Maybe 3 year old Evelyn who was sodomized and suffocated while her 5 yr old brother lay in the bed next to her or maybe 5 year old Josie Bluhm who had to be scraped out from underneath the front bumper after three illegal aliens blew through a red light getting to their job in Fremont....or maybe Dawn Rice who was killed in a hit and run....or Rob Rydberg or Mike McAdams both of whom left family behind.....WHAT DO YOU SAY TO THEM?

LOL He is a "college" crowd type of musician. He has a lot of the 18 something market. He'll probably get his 1,000 tickets @ $20 a tx sold. He is obviously a left wing extremist AND racist. I'm looking forward to protesting him and the ACLU.
