MANASSAS, Va. -

Jail officials say holding suspected illegal immigrants in Prince William County cost almost $800,000 more than expected in the previous fiscal year.

The so-called 287(g) program permits local law enforcers to assist Immigration and Customs enforcement in processing illegal immigrants. But jail superintendent Colonel Peter A. Meletis says the program has used far more jail resources than expected.

Federal immigration officials were taking weeks, not the 72 hours agreed upon, to pick up suspected illegal immigrants. This led to crowding at the jail.

The cost to house detainees surpassed the budget by $413,000. Other higher-than-anticipated costs included almost $130,000 in unbudgeted overtime and $179,000 in medical and drug costs.

Ya well when their families follow them to their home country just imagine the saving....school, medical, welfare, food stamps, housing etc.

I'm a little suspicious of that $179,000 in drugs and medical cost.

Ya, this is another one of the costs that Third World Cultures are inflicting upon us. They will seek for "reparations" from us, but we will never get anything from them. We were "unjust" to them when we introduced them to the Industrial Revolution, Democracy and Christianity.

Pro-amnesty forces will likely use this as an excuse to try to get rid of 287(g).

1.Depot all the illegals in US jails to Mexico or their home country and then secure our borders (mod edit).


2. Attrition and Enforcement of Immigration laws
Give no benefits of any kind to illegals…and revise for the 14th amendment and add a grandfather clause so that all “anchor babiesâ€
