Thread: Rallies planned nationwide to show support for law enforcement

A coalition of organizations is planning 71 rallies across the country this weekend to rally support for the nation's beleaguered law enforcement officers and veterans.

"The persecution is emanating from a politically cooperative effort between the Obama administration and the very biased liberal media such as CNN and MSNBC," says William Gheen, president of Americans for Legal Immigration PAC.



"They seem to be doing their very best to defame and demoralize our veterans police officers and our Border Patrol agents," he tells OneNewsNow.

The event is called "Operation American Shield," and the participating organizations include Overpasses for America and ALIPAC.

The coalition is announcing a rally in support of the U.S. Constitution, police officers, veterans, and Border Patrol agents on August 29 and 30 due to what it calls the widespread defamation and abuse of these groups at the hands of biased media and politicians.

There are several egregious examples they want to highlight, including the plight of Ferguson, Missouri, police officer Darren Wilson.

"Who is hiding in fear of his life with Obama's Justice Department trying to prosecute him and doing nothing about the mob of Black Panthers calling for his murder," Gheen alleges. "We have our veteran, Andrew Tahmooressi, who's been treated like a prisoner of war by the government of Mexico for taking a wrong turn at the border one night with his legal and registered American guns in his vehicle."

Gheen says they want to call attention to slain Border Patrol agents Brian Terry and Javier Vega Jr., who were killed directly or indirectly because the government didn't do its job correctly.
