Hotel execs press for immigration reform
Hotel execs press for immigration reform

Frustrated by slow progress in overhauling federal immigration law, the top executives of some of the nation's largest hotel chains have urged President Bush and key members of Congress to push for a breakthrough.
"We have to get the leadership in the House and Senate together on this," said J.W. Marriott Jr., chairman and chief executive officer of the Marriott hotel chain. "They have got to get this fixed."
Marriott and five other CEOs have sent a letter to the president, Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff, Commerce Secretary Carlos Gutierrez and Sens. Harry Reid (D-Nev.), Edward M. Kennedy (D-Mass.), Jon Kyl (R-Ariz.), John McCain (R-Ariz.), Mel Martinez (R-Fla.) and Arlen Specter (R-Pa.).
Marriott said he has already spoken with Gutierrez and will be contacting more congressional leaders this week.
"We could not operate our hotels without workers from other countries," the executives said in their letter. "It is time ... to pass legislation that will achieve a true solution to our broken immigration system."
In addition to Marriott, the letter was signed by the heads of the Hilton Hotels Corporation, the InterContinental Hotels Group, the Global Hyatt Corp., Loews Hotels and Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide Inc.
Collectively, the hotel chains employ more than 331,000 people, many of whom are foreign-born, according to the letter.
The hotel heads fear that if Congress fails to act, states and municipalities will instead enact a patchwork of immigration laws.
On Saturday, the Dallas suburb of Farmers Branch narrowly passed a town ordinance prohibiting landlords from renting to most illegal immigrants, reported to be the first of its kind in the nation.
"We can't manage 150 different laws, and neither can anybody else," Marriott said. "We need to have comprehensive reform."
Marriott said he feared the contentious issue of the estimated 12 million illegal immigrants already living in the United States is "taking all the oxygen out of the air" and could "derail the whole debate."
Several conservative Republican senators have indicated they would not support a bill that includes amnesty.
Marriott, though, said he "absolutely" supports a path to citizenship for the illegal immigrants. "There is no way we can deport 12 million people out of this country," he said.

Aren't you just sick to death of hearing that? Just consistently enforce the laws for a change.
Have you ever noticed how these businesses get the cheap illegal labor, but don't pass down their savings to the average Joe? But the average Joe foots the bill for the drain that the illegals put on our system."Calling an illegal alien an undocumented immigrant is like calling a burglar an uninvited house guest."

Business like these should suffer because of their support of illegals.

Our immigration system is not broken...it is just not being enforced.
I am so sick of the memes that the illegals and our government is feeding the minds of the American people.
LIES...
1. we need COMPREHENSIVE reform that provides a path to citizenship for the 12 million illegals in our country. Baloney...we have more like 80 million blood suckers in this country. And we don't need reform, we need to kick them all out.
2. Our immigration system is not broken...it is just not being enforced.
3. we need guest workers to do the jobs that American's wont do. Another bald faced lie. We managed this country just fine before the invasion and we can manage just fine without illegals.
4. Illegals are good for the economy. GET REAL. They cost the American taxpayer more than they give.
It is all deception to bring about Jorgies NWO and reduce the American citizen to slave status.

"We could not operate our hotels without workers from other countries who can accept substandard wages while the taxpayers must pay for all their needs since we refuse to pay for these things for them. Getting a source of cheap labor and making the public foot the bill for everything from the costs of their crimes and incarceration to their welfare, healthcare, WIC, food stamps, education for their masses of anchor babies, etc., gurantees us huge profits and that's all we really care about. After all, a lot of us have slutty little brain-dead debutante heiress daughters to provide fat trust funds for. As long as we can profit from the benefits of their near slave labor and foist the costs of their existence on the American middle class we will continue to bribe the spineless, corrupt Congress and president until we get what we demand."[b][i][size=117]"Leave like beaten rats. You old white people. It is your duty to die. Through love of having children, we are going to take over.â€

These people make me sick. They are already making millions but that is not enough they want millions more. I wish I could somehow make them live in Maywood for a week!
I suppose when we call the Senate tomorrow, we should say if US Chamber of Commerce members want cheap labor, they should move to Mexico! We sure as hell are not going to pay for their cheap labor.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

I wont be staying at any Marriott Hotels ever again. They support disease carrying illegals to do cheap labor while they reap the profits. I guess they don't mind the fact that the taxpayer also has to cough up big money to keep the illegals supplied with good American medical care and other services. These CEO's can suck lemons.
