Not surprising. Trump made promises that got him elected, but now that he's sitting in the White House, all bets seem to be off. It reminds me of something he said during the campaign. I don't remember the exact words but it was concerning his way of negotiating. Basically it was, ask for this but settle for that. Yep, I'm suggesting his promise of a "big beautiful wall" was just a catch phrase to reel us in.
