Rep. Luis Gutierrez wants immigration laws ignored

AP-Last week, Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-IL) wrote a very angry op ed for the Huffington Post in which he assailed President Obama for everything from allowing federal agencies to lawfully deport criminal aliens, to not acting to stop the Arizona state legislature from passing a law which makes it a crime for illegal aliens to be present in Arizona.

In his rant, the Illinois Congressman even griped about the breakup of human smuggling networks, notorious for abusing and kidnapping their human freight.

Gutierrez said: “This week, we saw how destructive things are getting. The combination of a harsh piece of anti-immigrant legislation advancing in the Arizona legislature and a massive, well-publicized federal enforcement action against a broad human smuggling network has sent the unmistakable message to Arizona's one million immigrants and two million Hispanics: there is a target on your backs and authorities are coming after you.â€

There are a lot of things I want and I want them now. But I'm not going to act like this representative if they don't happen.

I lament and apologize that my state sent Gutierrez to represent in D.C. Imagine if he fought this hard for citizens.

this representative is nothing more than a race based hustler who is looking out for illegals because he says they are his race.
but sorry, being a hispanic or latino is NOT A RACE, its an ethnic background.

Get a grip, grow up and represent the sovereignty of this country instead of treasonously standing up for illegal invaders. The rest of my thoughts will have me thrown off the Internet.

In the last 23 years, since the 1986, Reagan, one-time amnesty, to a thought to be 1.3 million illegals, that turned out to be 3.5 million (and still counting) over 27 million illegals have been apprehended, as they crossed the border into our United States.

UNFORTUNATELY, less than half of illegals are apprehended at the border. Before the recent addition (over the last two years) of 10,000 Border Patrol agents, and 322 miles of fence, and 304 miles of vehicle barriers, only 32 miles double-layered, it was estimated, by the border patrol agents, that less than 1, out of 7, illegals, were apprehended at the border. Some border patrol agents said less than 1, out of 10.

Now, border patrol agents, collectively, could approximate what percentage of illegals they catch. They said they catch more than half of the ones they know about. How many don't they know about.

According to the U.S. Immigration Service another 6 million illegals in our country are visa overstays.

In recent years, due mostly to the failing economy, but aided by the fence, the number of apprehensions has been decreasing.

Mr. Gutierrez, your opinion does not matter becasue you help illegal aliens. You are supposed to help just US citizens. We do not support amnesty for illegal aliens. We support enforcement of current immigration laws. We will not vote for Democrats this November and in 2012. The Democrats help illegal aliens. The American people oppose amnesty for illegals. You can go to Latin and Central America and advide the presidents of each country regarding the creation of jobs for their citizens. Tell the presidents of those countries that they must help their citizens. We do not want illegals here.

Politicians have to do what the American people want. We have said many times NO TO AMNESTY. WE SAY IT AGAIN NO TO AMNESTY. AND I AM TIRED OF POLITICIANS LIKE YOU WHO DO NOT LISTEN TO THE AMERICAN PUBLIC. WE PUT YOU IN OFFICE AND WE WILL REMOVE THE DEMOCRATS FROM OFFICE. DON'T YOU KNOW MR. GUTIERREZ, WE THE VOTERS (AMERICAN CITIZENS) HAVE THE POWER?
