Smith to push enforcement of immigrant laws

WASHINGTON — Immigration reform will be shelved for streamlined enforcement of current laws in the legislative priorities under a new Republican-controlled House, Rep. Lamar Smith said Tuesday.
“The enforcement of our immigration laws is critical to both our national security and economic prosperity. We need to know who is entering our country, and why,â€

That is and has always been the Real Republican postiion on immigration. Remember, our party is the party that stopped slave labor in the US, and our party is the party that passed the first minimum wage law, the first worker safety laws, conducted the first massive deportment of illegal aliens, established OSHA, and fought free trade policies since the beginning of our party in 1854. Our party was formed to secure American labor, promote American wages, improve the American condition, and protect American businesses. Republicans have always been secure borders, immigration control, protected trade, equal rights, civil rights and worker advocates. Always. In fact, Republicans are the only people in the history of the world to lay down their lives in a war over workers rights of people they didn't know and who would likely never know them.

This statement by Lamar Smith warms my heart to the soul and removes any doubt that this group of House Republicans will secure our borders, enforce US immigration law and deport illegal aliens.

Lets go Republicans. This is one of those jobs like some others in our proud history that only we can or will do for the citizens and workers of our nation.
