Is Mehmet truly opposed to open borders?

According to himself, yes.

“As your United States Senator, I will fight to end illegal immigration and soft-on-crime policies that release dangerous, undocumented criminals into sanctuary cities,” Oz
posted on Twitter just yesterday.

A new report out of Business Insider has claimed quite the contrary, accusing the Pennsylvania GOP nominee’s family business of paying the largest fine in ICE history as a consequence of hiring numerous illegal aliens. Dr. Oz was a shareholder in the business, technically making him one of the owners.

Some conservatives are now calling Dr. Oz out for such practices, including political commentator Brian Tyler Cohen who juxtaposed Oz’s recent Tweet with the recently reported revelation.

The PA senate GOP nominee has faced other controversies among conservative circles in the past. Then-Pennsylvania senate candidate Kathy Barnette slammed Oz for his partnerships and work with the World Economic Forum. Other dirt brought up included resurfaced clips showing his advocation of Covid-19 lockdowns as well as the ‘Black Lives Matter’ organization.

BI’s report stated that Asplundh Tree Experts, Co., a business that Oz is listed as a shareholder for on FEC documents, settled with US Immigrations and Customs Enforcement in 2017 after a six-year investigation and audit uncovered a systemic effort to hire illegal aliens for their tree-pruning company.

“Asplundh Tree Experts, Co., one of the largest privately-held companies in the United States, headquartered in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania, (‘Asplundh’), pleaded guilty today to unlawfully employing aliens,” an ICE press release about the ruling read, “in connection with a scheme in which the highest levels of Asplundh management remained willfully blind while lower level managers hired and rehired employees they knew to be ineligible to work in the United States.”

FEC Records show that the company has donated $12,000 dollars to Oz’s senate campaign.

Dr. Oz himself has additionally donated $23,000 to the Asplundh Tree Expert Co. Political Action Committee.

Oz campaign spokeswoman Erin Perrine denied any involvement by the senate candidate in the company’s routine practice of hiring illegal aliens, telling the New York Post, “neither Dr. Oz nor Lisa Oz have even worked at the company or had any involvement in decision-making regarding its business practices, period.”

“The company reached a civil settlement in 2017 with the federal government with no further action taken since then,” she continued. “Dr. Oz and Lisa Oz are passive shareholders in the company along with 200+ other family members. As passive, minority shareholders, Dr. Oz and Lisa Oz had zero involvement in the settlement.”
