The United States could be sleep-walking into its next crisis, a military report said.
The report by the U.S. Army War College’s Strategic Institute, said that a defense community paralyzed by conventional thinking could be unprepared to help the United States cope with a series of unexpected crises that would rival the Al Qaida strikes in 2001, termed a “strategic shock.â€Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

When Jake Green returns to his Kansas small-town home Jericho, where his dad Johnston is mayor, everyone is preoccupied with petty private business and family matters, but that changes drastically after a completely unexpected explosion. It soon becomes clear there has been a nuclear attack, but neither by whom nor on which scale. Suddenly life in Jericho, and as the inhabitants gradually discover all over the disintegrating USA, becomes a more primordial struggle for survival, where unexperienced dangers, primitive as well as technological, have to be weighed against pressing primal needs, such as food, fuel and self-defense against plunderers, invaders and even each-other. Jake, whose private story like that of other main characters slowly becomes disclosed to us, proves extremely resourceful and a smart hero, while his father's mayoral authority and even that of the only available medical professionals is soon challenged and undermined, criminal potentials are tapped into by circumstances and good people must rise to the daunting occasion assertively or perish. Even when contact is made with neighboring surviving towns, desperate rivalry soon cancels out solidarity. Perhaps I read it wrong--but--
Perhaps I read it wrong--but--what I see in the original post is that the government is more concerned with controlling the American populace than any invaders. In that case, it will be a civil war--American Civilians against American police and troops.
Domestic this, domestic that--it all falls under the bill that was passed that deals with "violent radicalization", (HR 1955 ), which had almost every member of Congress voting aye--even the good guys.
What is going on here?

This line sounds like the DOD is worried about Americans revolting. But this statement....
The report said the United States could also come under pressure from a hostile state with control over insurgency groups. The hostile state could force American decision-makers into a desperate response.
Looks like someone at the Pentagon is finally thinking about what happens if we have to scrap with another capable nation and they pull a modern Zimmerman letter with the illegals from Mexico and promise them land back if they strike.

They sure are trying their best to build the fear factor..if they would just shut up about it, this whole mess may just pass by with little protest..but no, unrest is something they are nurturing in order to gain control using fear. It wouldn't surprise me to see if riots didn't take place, then they would have insurgents creating riots.
