ROCKFORD — Attending a citizenship application workshop Saturday turned into a family reunion of sorts for Tola Lopez.

Lopez traveled from Naperville, her brother from Crystal Lake and her mom from Kewanee to Rockford for help with finishing their applications.

That is a huge problem with this whole thing. So many have legal family members here that are paving the way for them.....hiding them out etc. I know when I lived in Florida there was 1 legal grandma (from the last amnesty) and then 12 illegal family members ..... she wasn't happy about the situation but what can an old lady do? Family and all......all guys and she just sat alone in her room and let them run the show. I don't know how many "anchors" were a result from that one family. How many "families" were under that one roof collecting welfare......
