To make the E-Verify program permanent, and for other purposes.

1 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa
2 tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,
3 SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
4 This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Permanent E-Verify
5 Act’’.
6 SEC. 2. PERMANENT AUTHORIZATION OF E–VERIFY.
7 Section 401 of the Illegal Immigration Reform and
8 Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996 (8 U.S.C. 1324a
9 note) is amended—
10 (1) by amending the section heading to read as
11 follows: ‘‘E–VERIFY PROGRAM’’; and

1 (2) in subsection (b)—
2 (A) in the subsection heading, by striking
3 ‘‘; TERMINATION’’; and
4 (B) by striking ‘‘Unless the Congress oth
5 erwise provides, the Secretary of Homeland Se
6 curity shall terminate a pilot program on Sep7 tember 30, 2015.’’.
