SAN JOSE, Calif. - Police said they are seeking a Hispanic man in his 30s to 40s suspected in a fatal hit-and-run collision Saturday that left a San Jose woman dead.

On Saturday morning, police said they were dispatched to a hit and run collision at East Santa Clara and Seventh streets involving a vehicle and pedestrian.

Police said early findings indicate the hit-and-run driver was traveling southbound on North Seventh Street. The suspect turned onto eastbound East Santa Clara and struck the victim who was walking northbound across East Santa Clara in the crosswalk.

The hit-and-run driver fled and was last seen traveling southbound on South Eighth Street, police said, in a mid-size SUV, that is similar to a Ford Explorer and light gray or blue in color.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Anyone with information on this case was urged to call Investigator Kevin Cassidy of the San Jose Police Department Vehicular Crimes Unit at 408-277-4654. Persons wishing to remain anonymous may call Crimestoppers at 408-947-STOP.

Another American dies at the hands of the government supported illegal aliens. Just like the alien problem those responsible should be punished and by that I mean any government official that supports amnesty or open borders or illegal aliens! Put the traitors in jail or better yet to death! That would set a good precedent for those that wish to be corrupt and not represent the people and the constitution that they swore to protect. Desperate situations require extreme measures to be rectified and now is the time not tomorrow.

    My posts

    Another illegal immigrant

All of California, and most of the U.S., is suffering from illegal immigrants fleeing the scene of accidents, especially fatal ones. Many CA communities have begun operating traffic checks to take drivers without licenses (illegal immigrants) off of the roads; their cars get impounded. The odds are very high that is what occurred in this incident. We need to not have sanctuary cities in California.

    THERE WILL BE NO AMNESTY!!!

    For the doubting Tomas's

Escondido had a number of fatal hit and runs before they instituted their traffic checks

Escondido police Chief Jim Maher says that the strict enforcement is reducing the number of hit-and-run accidents ---- from 660 in 2005 to 554 in 2007 ---- which he says are caused primarily by unlicensed drivers.
