San Jose Police: Hit-And-Run Driver In Fatal Incident At Large
Driver Hispanic Man In His 30s To 40s, Police Say

SAN JOSE, Calif. - Police said they are seeking a Hispanic man in his 30s to 40s suspected in a fatal hit-and-run collision Saturday that left a San Jose woman dead.

On Saturday morning, police said they were dispatched to a hit and run collision at East Santa Clara and Seventh streets involving a vehicle and pedestrian.

Police said early findings indicate the hit-and-run driver was traveling southbound on North Seventh Street. The suspect turned onto eastbound East Santa Clara and struck the victim who was walking northbound across East Santa Clara in the crosswalk.

The hit-and-run driver fled and was last seen traveling southbound on South Eighth Street, police said, in a mid-size SUV, that is similar to a Ford Explorer and light gray or blue in color.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
