Thread: Sanctuary city illegal immigrant sparks $61M fire in national forest

Angel Gilberto Garcia-Avalos had been deported five times in just the past four years, yet each time he has managed to sneak from Mexico back into the U.S., where he ended up in more mischief: driving without a license, attempted burglary and felony weapons charges.

In August, he graduated to full-fledged mayhem, sparking a fire in the Sequoia National Forest that has already cost the government $61 million and left some of the country’s most beautiful landscape scarred for years to come.

Garcia, who pleaded guilty last month and faces 13 months in prison, had only recently been released from the Kern County Jail. He likely would have been deported again, but local authorities were unable to report him to immigration authorities because of California’s new sanctuary city law, which prohibited the sheriff from communicating with federal agents.

A total disgrace - do not know how anyone can defend sanctuary cities and call themself an American. Especially disturbing when politicians do so and force this on the people. Citizens are not asked, it is just proclaimed "sanctuary city". Don't know which is worse garbage of a person, this offender or politicians that defend him & his like. How dare they allow this! Ongoing too!

In regard to sanctuary policies----Are they nor promoting a culture which is using criminal methods to undermine our society.

It is generally known that illegals "live in the shadows," that they are often part of the Informal economy. So they are avoiding the regulatory fees and local and possible federal taxes others have to pay. So citizens have to make up for these shortfalls. Sanctuary policies may not directly cause this flaunting of numerous business laws, but they do tolerate it. And this then results in costs to the state.

Undermining citizens' control of their government functions.

This nightmare has to end before they kill us all and burn down our whole country.

Time to take our country back and hold on to it. Our country is the soil we tread, the air we breathe, the life force of US all. The catastrophe of illegal immigration isn't just a problem for some of US, it's a problem for all of US and it's time ALL AMERICANS understand that and rise to the challenge to end it, once and for all.
