Schumer asks Ariz. to hold off on immigration law
Senator asks Ariz. to hold off on immigration law
By LAURIE KELLMAN (AP) – 1 hour ago
WASHINGTON — A prominent Senate Democrat is asking Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer to put off her state's controversial new immigration law for a year. The idea is to hold off until Congress can try to pass broad new federal policies that would put millions of illegal immigrants on a path to citizenship.
New York Sen. Chuck Schumer is asking the Republican governor to delay the start of the law that would make it a state crime to be in the U.S. illegally and direct police to question people about their immigration status.
As a candidate, President Barack Obama promised to reform immigration policy. But last week he said what lawmakers of both parties have acknowledged: Such a bill is highly unlikely to pass this election year.

Somebody should tell Schumer to keep his long poking nose out of Arizona's security. Ignore the bstard. What makes him think Americans will permit their Congresspeople to pass another amnesty. SLAM AMNESTY DOWN!

Schumer should be worrying more about Americans instead of worrying about what a state does. a state that is taking action because morons like him want to do the opposite

Chucky needs to climb back onto whatever turnip truck he fell off of and go back home.
Gov. Brewer ought to rip him a new one for meddling and grandstanding.

I think we should delay an amnesty bill until Chucky is out of office.

Senator asks Ariz. to hold off on immigration law

WASHINGTON — A prominent Senate Democrat is asking Republican Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer to put off her state's controversial new immigration law for a year — a long shot request.
The idea is to hold off until Congress can try to pass broad new federal policies that would put millions of illegal immigrants on a path to citizenship.
New York Sen. Chuck Schumer asked Brewer to delay the law that would make it a state crime to be in the U.S. illegally and direct police to question people about their immigration status.
The law is slated to take effect July 29, and Brewer has no authority to delay it's start without calling the legislature back into session — something her spokesman says she's unwilling to do.
As a candidate, President Barack Obama promised to reform immigration policy. But last week he said what lawmakers of both parties have acknowledged: Such a bill is highly unlikely to pass during this election year.

Schumer just admitted they DONT HAVE THE VOTES IN 2010.
They want to wait till after the elections when the Republican traitors will be willing to join the Democratic traitors to pass Amnesty.
