I DON'T WANT ANYONE HERE TO TAKE WHAT I'M ABOUT TO SAY THE WRONG WAY. THESE PEOPLE ARE HERE ILLEGALLY AND IT SEEMS AS IF THE GOVERNMENT DON'T HAVE A PROBLEM DEPORTING THEM BUT WHEN IT COMES TO ILLEGAL HISPANICS THE RULES OF THE GAME CHANGES IN FAVOR OF HISPANICS. ILLEGAL HAITIANS SHOULD BE DEPORTED AND SO SHOULD ALL ILLEGAL MEXICANS AND THE REST OF THE ILLEGAL HISPANICS. AND ITS UP TO THE GOVERNMENT TO MAKE THE PUNISHMENT FOR RE-ENTERY INTO THE COUNTRY SWIFT AND SURE.IT SEEMS AS IF THEY HAVE GOT A FREE PASS TO COME AND GO WHEN EVER THEY WANT TO. AND TO SUM IT ALL UP, EVERYONE WHO IS IN THE COUNTRY ILLEGALLY SHOULD BE DEPORTED AND THAT SHOULD ALSO INCLUDE WOMEN AND THEIR ANCHOR BABIES. THE AUTOMATIC BIRTH RIGHT CITIZENSHIP NEEDS TO END STARTING YESTERDAY. THAT IS ONE REASON WHY THESE PREGNANT WOMEN COME HERE IN THE FIRST PLACE AND THE GOVERNMENT CAN PUT A STOP TO THIS IF THEY WANT TO.

I live in NC. I went to a friends house here recently and saw what look like 20 to 30 refugees walking around the apartment complex.

Come to find out they got taxpayer paid housing at said complex. All their children were registered and placed in our schools. Food stamps and all. I'm just dumbfounded more and more.

Every day I realize how sold out we really are.

I honestly believe it will take fighting in the streets to force the powers that be into doing the right thing.

Throw Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) out of office this year, she is an idiot...wasn't in office a week when she was out pandering to illegal aliens and every special interest group in the nation....SHE HAS TO GO!!

We can help Haiti with aid, like we do everyone, but it is no exuse to reward those who have broken the law .

Yep...throw her out. We can delay deportations for a couple weeks. THAT IS IT!! No TPS. And I even question delaying deportation. I have been reading up on the quake. It is only in Port Au Prince that there is a real problem. The outlying areas...some of those areas have no damage at all. Of course the media is concentrating their reporting on the worst hit area so it seems worse than it is.

This same thing happened in San Francisco in 1989 during the Loma Prieta quake. It was mostly the Marina that got hit real bad and buildings collapsed and burned and so on. And the Bay Bridge came down. The media concentrated their reporting on the worst hit area and that made it seem like the entire city was in shambles. I was here for that quake. Most of the city looked like nothing happened. In fact most of the city did not even lose power.

My point is that the people in the worst hit area can be moved to the other areas of Haiti that did not get hit so bad....or not at all.

I agree with you completely LadyStClaire, all illegal aliens should be handled the same way..deported. I also believe their enablers should be fined (or jailed) and shut down.

Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) on Wednesday requested that the White House grant temporary protected status to Haitians who have fled to the U.S.

The senator's request comes after a magnitude 7.0 earthquake hit the Caribbean island nation on Tuesday afternoon. The earthquake has reportedly caused widespread devastation in the impoverished nation.

    Gillibrand took to Twitter, saying:

My hope is that the WH will grant temporary protected status to Haitians who fled to the US due to past violence and disasters in Haiti.
Temporary Protected Status is typically granted by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services to foreign nationals if conditions in their home country prevent them from returning safely.

The agency can grant the status in cases of ongoing armed conflict, a natural disaster or other extraordinary condition.

Obama and Schumer are doing everything they can to let her keep her seat. Several possible challengers have basically been told not to run against her. Politics in this state is more than corrupted, it's absolutely fixed!

First line in Home page posting of this article:
In the aftermath of Haiti's catastrophic earthquake, the Obama administration announced Wednesday it was temporarily suspending deportations of undocumented Haitians.
So if the Obama Admin is temporarily suspending deportations of Haitians, then that means they are STILL deporting illegal aliens from all other countries? Ya right, thats a joke. They aren't deporting ANY illegal aliens from anywhere else either. They might occasionally deport an alien felon, but with porous borders, the felons just come right back.

So let me get this straight. Haitians who snuck into the country illegally years ago will now be given TPS because of an earthquake that happened a few days ago? I guess they will be coming "out of the shadows" demanding refugee entitlements now. I think the U.S. should help with food, medical supplies, medical treatment and help to rebuild their housing, but there is no need to grant TPS.
