Smuggled Migrants Found In Gas Tank

SAN DIEGO -- Border Patrol agents said Wednesday they caught a man trying to smuggle three people into the United States in a specially constructed gas tank compartment of his truck.

The driver was stopped at the Tecate border station Tuesday. Agents said a gamma-ray scan showed what appeared to be people. Firefighters were called in to help free them.

The driver of the vehicle was arrested and faces smuggling charges.
