Smuggler Attacks Game Warden

HIDALGO COUNTY - State officials say a human smuggler attacked a Texas Parks and Wildlife Department game warden on the Rio Grande near Anzalduas Dam.

Authorities arrested Ramon Lopez, 31, on multiple charges, including assault of a public servant.

Game wardens say this is the first time they file state charges on a suspected human smuggler.

Officials say Lopez was trying to cross more than 10 people in a rubber raft. The game warden placed him on the state's boat and tried to cuff him, but Lopez fought back and tried to get back on his raft.

The incident happened at approximately 9 p.m.

I certainly do not see how government and Americans can say that there is not a state of war at the border. Game wardens attacked by smuggler(s), border patrol fired upon from helicopters. Cartel people are not stupid, they know that the border patrol are UNDER ORDERS from Homeland Security not to use lethal force. How dumb is that???? It is as dumb as putting a chicken in a fox den and expecting the chicken to survive, that is very dumb!

I've written President Obama, Congressman Hensarling, Senator Cornyn, and Speaker Boehner asking that these people be given some protection and secure relief before Congress takes the holiday break. I would appreciate anyone and everyone else doing the same, please.

At least we can do that for them!
