Best solution for San Diego, pass school vouchers, privatize education and get rid of your stupid incompetent San Diego Unified District School Board trying to screw up your economy.

I agree. The door swings both ways. Good for Arizona.

The California government needs to know that boycotts work both ways. I am personally boycotting California wines and Disneyland.

Please spread the word to boycott California wine.

In some cases, it appears that Arizona residents misconstrued the votes taken by San Diego’s elected leaders as calls for an actual boycott of Arizona as opposed to statements of opposition.
Oh, BS! They were all more than happy to jump on the condemnation of Arizona, but when the backlash hits the fan we are supposed to believe they didn't mean it? They can dish it out, but they sure can't take it!

Yes! Boycott Cali wines....it will hurt. And by boycotting Cali wines we are also boycotting Nancy Pelosi, who owns vineyards in California.

I'm in California and I say please, please boycott California. Stop drinking Nancy Pelosi's wines immediately. Don't come here for any reason (unless it's to march against illegal immigrants).

Stop California tourism dead in it's tracks, this is the only way to effect San Francisco, Los Angeles and San Diego. You must hurt us in our pockets, it's the only way. You must hurt all of California in order to show these three cities that you don't agree with their mayors or city councils.

Don't come here, take the kids to Disneyworld, not Disneyland. There are theme parks all over our country, visit one of them. Go to the Grand Canyon, go to Sedona. Arizona is a gorgeous state, spend your money in Arizona.

    Boycott California!!

Outreach to Arizona travelers on hold
Visitors bureau drafted letter to placate residents

By Lori Weisberg, UNION-TRIBUNE STAFF WRITER

    Friday, May 14, 2010 at 9:14 p.m.

Tourism leaders have decided to back away from a planned advertising initiative aimed at heading off lost business from Arizona travelers who are angry over San Diego’s opposition to their state’s anti-illegal-immigration law.

Just a day after drafting an open letter to the state’s residents to be published in The Arizona Republic, the San Diego Convention & Visitors Bureau concluded that it would be best to hold off on pursuing an attention-getting move regarding the increasingly controversial legislation.

Local hoteliers and tourism officials are worried about the growing number of letters and e-mails they are receiving from Arizona residents indicating that they plan to stay away from San Diego in light of resolutions passed by the San Diego City Council and school board critical of the new law.

Visitors from Arizona, who number 2 million a year, are a major component of San Diego’s tourism industry, contributing roughly $800 million to the economy, the visitors bureau says.

Bureau President Joe Terzi said Friday that he will continue to monitor the correspondence from Arizona residents and will personally respond to each. But after discussing the planned advertising letter with others in the tourism community, he decided to hold off for now.

“A number of people felt that it wasn’t an appropriate direction to take,â€
