A South Sioux City, Nebraska man charged in the shooting death of another man this summer will face federal prosecution instead of state charges. Dakota County Attorney Ed Matney has turned the case of Martin Delgadillo-Salas over to federal authorities, citing an immigration detainer lodged against him and a federal arrest warrant. In late June, 21-year old Martin Diaz was found dead of a gunshot wound in the basement of Delgadillo's South Sioux City home.

The 22-year old Delgadillo-Salas had been facing three state charges, including Manslaughter. Matney says he also appears to have an active arrest warrant out of Woodbury County for probation violation.
