Syria Kurds say repatriated US child, German and children

Qamishli (Syria) (AFP) - Syria's Kurds have handed over an American toddler and three German children and their mother to their respective governments, a Kurdish official and a Kurdish source said on Saturday.
After years of leading the battle against the Islamic State group in Syria, the Kurds hold hundreds of foreign men, and thousands of related women and children suspected of links to the extremists.
Abdelkarim Omar, a senior official with the Kurdish authorities in northeastern Syria, said the handover went ahead on Friday.
"An American child and three German children with their mother were handed over to their governments," he said in a statement on Twitter.
A Kurdish source said the American girl -- who was born in 2016 -- was handed over to a US official at the Samalka crossing with Iraqi Kurdistan, but could not provide any further details about her parents.
Germany's Bild newspaper has reported the American child was the daughter of the German woman's first husband, who was a US citizen.
Germany on Friday said it was repatriating its first IS suspect, and that she and her three German children had crossed into Iraq on their way home.
Spiegel magazine named the mother as Laura H., 30, and said she and her children had been living in the overcrowded Al-Hol camp for the displaced in northeastern Syria.
She is believed to have travelled to Syria from Giessen in central Germany in March 2016, and to have joined IS that summer.
The Kurdish authorities have repeatedly urged Western countries to repatriate their nationals linked to IS, but they have been largely reluctant to do so.
A Turkish invasion of northern Syria last month sparked concern of a mass breakout from Kurdish-held jails and camps.
Germany had already brought home a handful of orphans, but no adults until Friday.
Austria, France and Belgium have also repatriated some orphaned children, while the United States has repatriated several women and their children.
An Albanian boy taken by his mother to join IS in Syria returned to his home in Italy earlier this month.
Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kosovo have all repatriated dozens of women and children.

UK to repatriate orphaned children of British Isis members from Syria
This is first time British citizens have been brought home from former Isis territory

The UK is to repatriate orphaned children of British Isis members from Syria, the foreign secretary has announced.
The children, who cannot be identified for security reasons, will be the first British citizens to be brought back to the UK from territory formerly under the control of the terror group.
Some 25 British women and more than 60 of their children have been stranded in the country’s northeast since fleeing the Isis caliphate in its final days earlier this year.
Most of them are under the age of five, meaning they would probably have been born in Isis territory.
The UK government has been reluctant to bring back its citizens over security concerns, but Dominic Raab, the foreign secretary, said last month that it was looking into repatriating orphans and unaccompanied minors.
In a statement on Thursday, he said bringing home the children was “the right thing to do”.
“These innocent, orphaned children should never have been subjected to the horrors of war,” he added.

“Now they must be allowed the privacy and given the support to return to a normal life.”
The United Nations has previously called for all children of foreign Isis members to be repatriated to their home countries.
Some 70,000 women and children who fled the Isis caliphate in its last months are being held in camps by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), a mostly Kurdish militia that defeated the terror group with US and UK backing. The largest of those facilities is al-Hol camp, which is currently housing some 11,000 foreign citizens.
The SDF is also holding hundreds of European Isis fighters.
A number of European countries have repatriated stranded children. France, Germany, Norway and Denmark have all brought a small number back, most of whom were orphans whose parents were killed during the caliphate’s final months.
Australia also recently brought home eight children and grandchildren of two Australian nationals who fought for Isis.

These women and their children are not "innocent". They grew up in a barbaric environment of rape, filth, murder, crime and war. They are taught at a very early age this hate and how to fight. It is embedded in their brains.
They will grow up and commit crimes against us. They need to be kept out of our countries. They will grow up to resent their childhood, their lives, and their host countries.ILLEGAL ALIENS HAVE "BROKEN" OUR IMMIGRATION SYSTEM
DO NOT REWARD THEM - DEPORT THEM ALL
