Tancredo Asks Bush to Reconsider Admission of Refugees
Refugees from Bhutan may not want to resettle in U.S.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Representative Tom Tancredo (R-Littleton) today sent a letter to President Bush asking him to reconsider a decision to admit 10,000 refugees from Bhutan into the United States. This is the first step in a plan that would relocate as many as 60,000 of the refugees to the United States.

“While it seems clear that this displaced group meets the criteria of persecution on the basis of religion, it is less obvious that forcing them to relocate to the United States is the appropriate course of action at this time,â€
