U.S. BORDER PATROLBorder agents seized this million-dollar load of marijuana Friday morning along the U.S.-Mexico border. Border agents foiled a drug smuggling Friday morning and netted a $1 million load of marijuana. More than 1,400 pounds of the drug was confiscated, according to a press statement from U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

The bust happened at about 8:30 a.m. Friday after agents operating remote surveillance cameras spotted a pair of vehicles that had entered the U.S. illegally through the Colorado River south of County 11th Street.

One vehicle fled and the other vehicle became stuck on the riverbank and the people occupying it fled and ran into Mexico, according to the statement.

The search continues for the second vehicle, which is described as a gray pickup truck with a black camper shell. Anyone with information to report can call toll free at (800) 238-1945.
