A third North Texas facility will be opened to immigrant children by the end of the month, according to the United States Health and Human Services Department.

A USHHS spokesperson told News 8 that a facility in Somervell County, southwest of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, will host undocumented immigrants for 21 days.

The facility will have full security and the children will be medically screened prior to their arrival. USHSS officials did not reveal the address of the facility or provide an exact date of the children's arrival.

Hosting the children at the Somervell County facility will be federally funded, the USHHS said, and will have no impact on local taxpayers.

Hundreds of undocumented immigrants have arrived in North Texas, primarily from Central American countries, throughout this month.

Border kids have arrived in waves at facilities in Rockwall and Ellis Counties. They’re expected to stay there for 21 days as officials attempt to process them connect them to family members in the United States.
