Time to enforce our current immigration laws

I just read that the next census will include illegal immigrants.

It appears as though the Obama administration has tipped its hand as to their version of "immigration reform."

Including this group will end in a greater false representation for the states they reside in, which will alter the next election in a synthetic way.

Perhaps it is not immigration reform that we need, but rather agressive enforcement of our current immigration policies.

For those who argue for an open border, why stop at the current estimated 12 million to 20 million people?

Why not make it 75 million, or just let everyone in?

What would that do to the economy?

I’m sure that there are many people in Darfur, or Asia who would pay us to enter and work here for free?

Letting them in would surely be more compassionate.

Just because people can walk across our southern border, we should not allow them an unfettered access.

What about the Cubans or Haitians who are turned away after a perilous journey by raft?

If this issue is so important, as is the current health care debate, then why not solve it through a national referendum on the 2010 ballot?

That would remove the charges of racism and be truly representative of the desires of the American people without the current political pandering.

Racism is not the issue here. People, whether they are purple, green or blue, speaking English or any other language, are both good and bad.

Friends can be of differing opinions. However, a country with no national sovereignty will one day cease to be a nation.

Then it won’t matter which political party is in power or whether you’re a conservative or liberal.

The United States and we will cease to be a nation that stands for opportunity and the pursuit of happiness.
