So what is the problem here? I see only positive things, that is less crowded classrooms, more time for teachers to spend teaching academic subjects IN ENGLISH, no more spending on specialprograms/entitlements for illegal aliens.

The schools think it's a problem because they don't get as many dollars for their schools. Fewer children equal fewer dollars. Also the ESL, migrant and free or reduced lunch programs bring in lots of extra dollars for the schools.

    Think you're right Mayday.

If something doesn't quite add up you can usually say to yourself - just follow the money.

Our city applied for 287g last summer. I heard at the board meeting that one of the middle schools had 60 less students attend then expected.

Can I just call up and ask the current enrollment?! Or is that private information.

this is good news isn't it? Nothing like smaller class rooms for better education.
