Troops: We need to do something about the Chamber of Commerc
Thats it! Once again the U.S. Chamber of Commerce seems to be one of our biggest enemies in trying to save our country (see wmarincic's post "System to Verify Worker Legality...").
What can we do about the U.S. Chamber of Commerce? Harrass them to death with hundreds? thousands? of e-mails, phone calls, faxes, etc? Picket line? Protest groups? (Protests would take some prep time to organize, and money and time off work for travel. But we're likely going to have to start doing that more at some point.)
I know Chamber of Commerce isn't going to be as easily swayed since they don't have a potential vote to lose like elected officials, but if we made it bad enough for them, maybe word would get back to our elected officials about the numbers of people who are ANGRY and are NOT GOING TO TAKE IT ANYMORE!!!!!! We WILL organize and we WILL protest and we WILL DEMAND as loudly or louder than the pro-illegal immigrant advocates.
U.S. Chamber of Commerce has a website with contact info.<div>Number*U.S. military*in S.Korea to protect their border with N.Korea: 28,000. Number*U.S. military*on 2000 mile*U.S. southern border to protect ourselves from*the war in our own backyard: 1,200 National Guard.</

All businesses supporting The Chamber should be boycotted.

The Chamber of Commerce "proud member" decals posted on the doors of businesses are going to be proudly displayed next to the Liquidation and Going Out of Business signs. The Chamber has teamed up against America for the sake of big business, illegal aliens and Globalist agenda and their members are about to start disapearing and so will the dues.

And the Chamber is always at the City Council Meetings, pushing their views on the Board Members then onto us the citizens across America.

01-30-2009, 02:01 PM #5vmonkey56 - Thanks for the info. Thats what I was looking for - I didn't know if the local Chambers of Commerce are activists also with regard to illegal immigration. I might contact the local C of C here, and/or attend one of the City Council meetings.

If it is a Chamber of Commerce office or a business with Chamber of Commerece on their window they are for illegals and against the American worker.
The Chamber of Commerce was the #1 Lobbyist in DC last year, they spent more money lobbying our congress than any other group.....
So besides boycotting businesses with Chamber of Commerce stickers we need to hammer our congressmen/women about this....our congress is not very well informed about what is going on out here, we need to keep them posted (Brought to their attention) everytime C of C acts against the good of our country inform you Representatives.

You need to talk to your local Chamber of Commerce first because most of them are not affiliated with the US Chamber of Commerce. Ask if they support e-verify and would their members voluntarily use e-verify? There are plenty of Americans out of work they don't need to hire illegal labor. Plus illegals are partly responsible for the current recession, in other words if they hire illegals they are cutting their own throats.
If you don't have any luck with the local Chamber talk to individual businesses and tell them the same thing, and also point out that the National Federation of Independent Businesses supports e-verify. It only costs $300 a year to join the NFIB and they represent small businesses way better than the US Chamber of Commerce does.
Here is info on the NFIB support of e-verify:

01-30-2009, 05:31 PM #9Yes that is correct, the US Chamber, State Chambers, and local Chambers are separate organizations. Now a few of the local and state chambers are members of the US Chamber but most are not. The primary US Chamber members are big corporations like Hilton Hotels, McDonalds, Wal Mart etc. That is where the US Chamber gets most of it's money from.
