Truck Carrying Illegal Immigrants Crashes into Home, Elderly Woman Killed
    Posted: Aug 06, 2011 6:29 PM EDT

(FALFURRIAS) Kiii News - An elderly woman is dead following a horrible crash in Falfurrias. Police say a suburban full of suspected illegal immigrants crashed head on into a home killing 70 year old Berta Gonzalez who was asleep inside her bedroom.

The crash sent at least 5 others to the hospital, according to police. The Falfurrias police chief says an officer tried to pull over the driver of the suburban moments before the crash during a routine traffic stop. When the officer got out of his unit, the suburban picked up speed and took off down Center Street.

Police say they did not have time to chase the suspect, before the driver got up to 70 miles an hour, and crashed head on into the home. Police say the impact threw the woman's body several feet outside.

Today, we spoke with the victim's children, who are in shock and disbelief. Cecilia Molina, the victim's daughter told 3 News, "I couldn't just believe it! Not my mom! She was sleeping. She was the sweetest person anyone could ever know."

Police have apprehended seven illegal immigrants who were inside the suburban. The unidentified driver has been arrested and is facing criminal charges, including murder.

For those who were wondering where this was like I was, it is in south Texas.
Illegal aliens remain exempt from American laws, while they DEMAND American rights...

Documents Detail Smuggling Attempt That Ended In Woman's Death

FALFURRIAS - A federal complaint filed against two alleged immigrant smugglers late Monday is shedding light on how an attempted smuggling ended in the death of a Falfurrias woman late Friday night.

Jose Virgilio Gonzalez-Pineda of El Salvador told special agents with the Department of Homeland Security that he had paid $3,000 to get to Maryland.

He said he crossed the US-Mexico border sometime Thursday with five other individuals.

After that, he and the others walked through the brush for about two hours before a pickup came to get them.

He said the pickup drove for about an hour and took the group to a hotel where they stayed until the next morning.

At that time, a van took them to a house until Friday evening when another van came to pick them up.

The second van traveled for about two hours, he said, until it was stopped by a police officer along Highway 281.

At that point, the group bailed out and ran into the brush, where they walked for several hours.

He says they finally arrived near a highway, where they were picked up about 20 minutes later by a Suburban.

According to Gonzalez-Pineda, they were only in the Suburban for a few minutes before being stopped by Falfurrias Police.

He says the driver stopped for a few moments, then suddenly accelerated.

He could feel the Suburban driving over rough terrain, sending the occupants bouncing around, and looked up just in time to see the home of the Bertha Gonzalez, then felt the impact.

Gonzalez was dragged approximately 15 feet.

HALO Flight was called to the scene to transport her, but by the time they got there, she had died, so she was not airlifted for treatment.

Gonzalez-Pineda and the six other illegal immigrants were found hiding in the back of a nearby pickup.

Five of the seven were sent to Christus Spohn Alice and Christus Spohn Kleberg for treatment.

The other two were sent to the Falfurrias Border Patrol station for processing and questioning.

Santos Humberto Monteaguado of El Salvador, Nelson Zuniga-Bautista of Honduras, Elsa Esther Vasquez-Cruz of El Salvador, Sylvia Del Carmen Blanco-Cabrera of El Salvador, Wendy Gisela Santos-Reyes of Hondura, and a minor from El Salvador all told similar stories that ended in the same way.

Along with the illegal immigrants, authorities also found Marcus Adrian of Falfurrias at the scene of the wreck in Falfurrias.

He was detained after a short foot pursuit near the crash site.

Adrian told investigators that he and Romeo Cantu had traveled to Edinburg on Friday, August 5 to provide "cover" along Highway 281 for a van of aliens traveling north.

But Adrian says before they could arrive to provide cover, the van was being followed by a DPS trooper and subsequently pulled over so the immigrants inside could bail out.

Adrias says at the point, he went back to Cantu's residence in Falfurrias, then later was told by Cantu to drop off a Suburban at the Sonic in town for the immigrants.

But he said the Immigrants got into the Suburban before he could leave.

He claims another man who was leading the immigrants through the brush got into the driver's seat, and they were almost immediately stopped by Falfurrias Police, which was followed by the impact into the house.

Romeo Cantu, also a US citizen living in Falfurrias, gave a similar account as Adrian.

He said he received call from a man known only as "Chaparro" on Friday, telling him to provide cover for a load of aliens traveling north.

After the bailout along Highway 281, Cantu says he was a call from "Chaparro" saying that another man known as "El Perico" was in the brush and needed to be picked up.

That's when Cantu told Adrian to take the Suburban to the Sonic.

But Cantu says that when he went to the Sonic to pick up Cantu minutes later, it was already being pursued by Falfurrias Police.

Cantu told the investigators that his only role was to scout and provide cover, and didn't want a tragedy like that to occur, and claimed that he would assist in the investigation

He and Adrian were both arrested and are now charged with smuggling immigrants.

None of the federal court documents included in the filing reference the status of the driver of the suburban, presumably "El Perico", who is expected to be charged with murder in the death of Gonzalez.

The minor from El Salvador is expected to be returned to his home country, but the remaining illegal immigrants are expected to remain in the US to serve as material witnesses for the government in the case against Cantu and Adrian.

    ===========================================

The north/south roads in all of the border states are constant illegal immigration paths for dangerously overloaded vehicles carrying illegal aliens desperate to reach states far into this country.

Just another form of murder and mayhem perpetrated on Americans because this government refuses to even acknowledge we have a problem, let alone admit we are under invasion.
