In order to better inform Americans about the impact illegal aliens are having on crime rates in sanctuary cities, President Donald Trump today ordered the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security to publish a weekly list of crimes committed by illegals.

In an executive order titled “Enhancing Public Safety in the Interior of the United States,” Trump directed Secretary John Kelly to be transparent with citizens.

“To better inform the public regarding the public safety threats associated with sanctuary jurisdictions, the Secretary shall utilize the Declined Detainer Outcome Report or its equivalent and, on a weekly basis, make public a comprehensive list of criminal actions committed by aliens and any jurisdiction that ignored or otherwise failed to honor any detainers with respect to such aliens,” the order reads.

The same executive order “directs that federal funds be withheld from cities and counties that don’t cooperate with immigration officials,” Patch reports.

Good News. The more Americans that connect illegal aliens to real crime the less sympathy may be shown for this population. Many Americans have been swayed by the mainstream media and activist groups to see illegal aliens in a sympathetic light.

If the whole truth about illegal immigration hadn't been hidden from the public, the public wouldn't have tolerated it for as long as it has. One-sided PR campaigns do not tell the truth or show reality, they diffuse and disguise it. We need a PR campaign for the truth.

President Trump’s DHS is going to publish a weekly, rolling report on illegal alien crime. This is something that American citizens — on both sides of the immigration debate — need and deserve.

Buried in the list of executive orders emanating from the Oval Office this week is a future directive to the secretary of Homeland Security to “utilize the Declined Detainer Outcome Report or its equivalent and, on a weekly basis, make public a comprehensive list of criminal actions committed by aliens and any jurisdiction that ignored or otherwise failed to honor any detainers with respect to such aliens," with the goal of better informing the public of “the public safety threats associated with sanctuary jurisdictions," reports The Hill.

“So, here’s where Trump’s executive order is brilliant,” explains CR’s Chris Pandolfo. “By publishing the statistics of crimes committed by illegal immigrants in areas of the country with sanctuary city policies, Trump is essentially telling the public, ‘Your Democratic politicians are protecting crime in your cities with their sanctuary city policies.’ The president is handing ammunition to the political opponents of big-city Democratic politicians everywhere.”

And that ammunition is potent, given the sheer volume of names and numbers that will start turning up in the quasi-federal police blotter on illegal immigrant crime.

According to a 2015 report from the Migration Policy Institute, over 800,000 of the estimated 11 million illegally living in the United States had criminal convictions. Out of the 820,000 total estimated, 300,000 had a felony conviction, while 390,000 carried serious misdemeanors. Criminal aliens make up a grossly disproportionate percentage of state prison systems, according to research by civil rights commissioner and attorney Peter Kirsanow. Incarceration costs for illegal immigrants add up to almost $2 billion a year for American taxpayers.

Furthermore, there are nearly 1 million aliens who have received their final deportation orders but still linger in the states, according to a Center for Immigration Studies report from June. A more recent report from CIS claims that such deportations hit a 10-year low at the end of the Obama administration.

Even worse than these statistics, however, are the horrific stories of the lives ended and families ripped apart due to wholly preventable crimes committed by illegals. These are people like Jamiel Shaw Sr., whose son was gunned down in broad daylight by illegal-alien gang members due to the color of his skin. Scott Root’s daughter, Sarah, was killed by a drunk-driving illegal, who took advantage of lax ICE enforcement by skipping town after posting a mere $5,000 bond. Wendy Hartling’s daughter, Casey Chadwick, was brutally murdered by an illegal immigrant from Haiti in 2015.

Chadwick’s case is especially egregious. Though the murderer was actually brought to justice, his crime occurred after being released from prison for another murder for which he was never rightfully deported. Chadwick’s death was completely preventable, and happened because government officials failed to enforce the law.

And these travesties are far more widespread than any just society should tolerate. FAIR, a pro-immigration enforcement organization, keeps a running list of such crimes. Furthermore, in an in-depth report published in October, CR’s Carly Hoilman spoke to several other families who have been devastated and robbed of their loved ones as a result of previous administrations’ failure to enforce American immigration laws.

While these families are forced to grapple with the aftermath, the problem remains — to far too many Americans — an abstract one. Perhaps a national weekly crime report will finally make the veracity of the threat resonate to many more Americans.

More importantly, these victims, past and future, deserve to have their stories told and their suffering understood by their fellow citizens. Under President Trump, it’s finally going to happen.

Yes, he is a wonderful person who will be a truly great President for our nation and citizens.

Yes I do believe these weekly reports are going to be quite eye opening for the country so see the real effect illegal aliens are having on this country everyday with regards to crime. I have been in courtrooms where these illegals have committed crimes while on probation for other crimes and are allowed to just walk out of the courtroom on that day with just a public defender at our expense of course. It is a joke our legal system with regards to illegal aliens committing crimes.
