(WDRB Fox 41) -- Two California men are facing multiple charges of identity theft and forgery of prescriptions after police arrested them at the main U.S. Post Office branch on Gardiner Lane.

According to arrest reports, 30-year-old Suren Sargsyan of Hollywood and 30-year-old Smbat Musadyu of Sherman Oaks, Calif., were found at the post office with several prescription blanks. (Prescription blanks are blank forms used by doctors to write out pharmacy prescriptions.) The blanks contained the names and identification numbers of three different California doctors, but the addresses had been changed to locations in Louisville, Lexington, and New Orleans.

Police say that in addition to the blanks, they also had numerous copies of six forged prescription forms, as well as the personal information of several individuals.

Both Musadyu and Sargsyan allegedly had prescription medication in the names of at least 16 of these individuals.

When police contacted the three California doctors whose names and identification numbers were on the prescription blanks, they stated they don't practice medicine in Kentucky or Louisiana and have no patients in those areas.

Police say Sargsyan is not a U.S. citizen, and both men were preparing to fly out of Louisville when they were apprehended.

Both men are charged with six counts of forging a prescription and 16 counts of identity theft. The arrest report indicates that officers are requesting a high bond.
