Another immigrant chase ends in Palmview

PALMVIEW -- Police pursued a vehicle filled with 18 undocumented immigrants shortly after noon Wednesday.

A Palmview police patrol officer observed the vehicle disregard a red light at Bentsen Palm Drive and Business 83 about 12:15 p.m. Wednesday, said Lt. Lenny Sanchez, a Palmview Police Department spokesman.

The officer attempted to pull over the vehicle, but the driver took off and led the officer on a chase that ended near Expressway 83 on La Homa Drive.

Police discovered four undocumented Mexican citizens and 14 Chinese citizens inside the vehicle, Sanchez said.

Officers continue to look for the driver, who bailed out and fled after the chase ended, Sanchez said.
