Authorities seize pot from abandoned van in Roma

ROMA — Federal and local investigators seized nearly 1,200 pounds of marijuana inside a vehicle on Sunday.

Starr County sheriff's deputies and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents responded to a Plymouth Grand Voyager minivan abandoned at an apartment complex Sunday along North Eagle Street in Roma.

Deputies saw several bundles of drugs inside the van. ICE agents searched the van and recovered 61 bundles of pot that weighed 1,190 pounds inside.

No arrests have been made in the case.

ICE seized the marijuana. Sheriff's deputies seized the van.
