Illegals in Charge, Breaking the law, helping to run a city
Illegals in Charge
Breaking the law, helping to run a city
by Joseph Curl
Some illegal immigrants aren’t waiting for amnesty, it seems. Some are coming out of the shadows — and into City Hall, where they are ready to start helping run the place.
A small city outside Los Angeles has become the first in the U.S. to appoint illegal immigrants to government positions. And they’ll be paid with taxpayer money.
Huntington Park Councilman Jhonny Pineda announced Monday night he was appointing Julian Zatarain, 21, to the Parks and Recreation Commission, and Francisco Medina, 29,
to the Health and Education Commission. Both are in the country illegally.
The move, which came at the City Council meeting, was met with anger.
“You are out of order!” one woman in the crowd yelled at the council members, according the local CBS affiliate.
While Pineda, 32, said the two will not be paid, they can each receive a stipend of up to $75 per month. It was unclear if they would also be eligible for any other government benefits.

“Huntington Park is a city of opportunity and a city of hope for all individuals regardless of socioeconomic status, race, creed, or in this case, citizenship,” Pineda said. “We need to make
sure we bring everyone together to the table here in Huntington Park so that we can make sure we’re sharing the same vision.”
The two city residents did not meet the guidelines in President Obama’s executive order that allowed children of illegal immigrants to remain in the country, Pineda said. But a city ordinance
allows illegals to hold government posts if they work on a volunteer basis.
“I’m speaking out for people like me,” Zatarain told the Los Angeles Times. “I’m not doing anything wrong.”
Zatarian said he was appointed not because he is an illegal, but because his “background was really good for the position.”
A Mexican, Zatarian arrived in the U.S. in 2007 at age 13 and graduated from Huntington Park High School. He now attends Santa Monica College and hopes to go to law school.
Medina graduated from California State University and has organized free immigration forums.
“Of course, we all pay taxes,” Medina told KTLA after the Monday meeting. “In Huntington Park, there’s a big community of poor undocumented, and the fact that I’m going to be
part of it, I think they’re going to be so proud of it as well.”

But not everyone was delighted by the appointment of two illegal immigrants to city commissions.
“I don’t think they should be allowed in the country if they’re … if they haven’t been granted asylum by the United States government. Then they’re considered criminals, I would say.
Everybody that’s here illegally, right, would be considered a criminal,” Louis Knickerbocker told KTLA.
Meanwhile, Robin Hvidston, executive director of We The People Rising, told the Times, “To appoint commission seats to individuals who are breaking federal laws demonstrates that
lack of respect for U.S. law.”
Huntington Park is 97 percent Hispanic or Latino and has incredibly low turnout for elections, often less than 10 percent. The median income is just $28,000 a year and more than a
quarter of the city’s 59,000 residents live below the poverty line.
Huntington Park Mayor Karina Macias said she supports the appointments.
“Our population includes documented and undocumented immigrants, and I wanted to make sure everyone could participate,” Macias told the Times. “If we’re going to talk about
transparency, being open and having a community that’s involved, then the conversation also has to include undocumented immigrants. I’m hoping other cities are looking at what
we’re doing here.”

We have them on advisory councils around here. Their cronies (sympathetic legal citizens) are salaried Policy Advisors. Our county (Multnomah County, Oregon) held last year's first Budget Hearing of the year at the Immigrant and Refugee Coalition, and there were representative from groups that organize illegals specifically asking for county money.
Our county is also planning a new $88 million Health Department Building. A huge portion of the free services go to immigrants, refugees AND illegal aliens or their offspring who live very close to where their Coalition offices are. They have settled into about a ten by ten mile area of the county, and expect the county government to pander to their needs. We already have a downtown office building that the county uses for health administration to oversee a number of clinics. However, since they now tailor a lot of their services towards the care that illegal aliens would need, it is obvious that this expansion project is being caused by the growth of the immigrant population.
And then there are other projects due to growth. Our present county official are particularly egregious in devising very expensive public works projects, because they depend upon union contributions and contractor contributions for their campaigns. It's obvious to people like me that the immigrant and illegal aliens population is driving this super rapid expansion of government services. Yet the elected officials have such a stranglehold I don't think we will ever get rid of them. It all has happened in the last twenty years where certain counties and the state government have emerged with so-called "progressive" majorities, that they now think they can enact whatever policy they want to---and it usually depicts whites as the aggressors and people of color, women, and "sexual minorities" as the helpless victims."Men of low degree are vanity, Men of high degree are a lie. This is a great article that just shows beyond end why we can not allow illegal aliens to remain the country. This is why they need to be deported. We can't allow illegal aliens to take over our government, to work in our government, or be cahoots with our government. What are these people in Hunting Park thinking? Have they no common sense, no intelligence and no loyalty to the American People? Clearly not.
The mission of this element is to destroy the United States from within. And that's what they've done. Why Americans have allowed it, one can only guess they were afraid of being called a racist.
THAT DOG WON'T HUNT.
So stand up fellow Americans, stand tall and yell it from the rooftops: "WANTING OUR IMMIGRATION LAWS ENFORCED IS NOT RACISM".A Nation Without Borders Is Not A Nation - Ronald Reagan

Tempers Flare When Huntington Park Appoints Undocumented Immigrants To City Commissions
August 4, 2015 8:25 AM
HUNTINGTON PARK (CBSLA.com) — Huntington Park is making history and not everyone is happy about it.
Councilman Jhonny Pineda announced at Monday night’s city council meeting the appointment of two undocumented immigrants as commissioners, CBS2/KCAL9’s Kara Finnstrom reports.
“You are out of order!” one woman in the crowd yelled at the councilmembers during the meeting.
Some critics say Pineda, who joined the council in March, specifically picked Medina and Zatarain because they worked on his campaign. Others say they don’t believe undocumented immigrants should serve the government this way.
“We’re sending the wrong message: you can be illegal and you can come and work for the city,” a woman told Finnstrom.
Pineda stresses that the two appointees would not be paid – federal law prohibits that – and that they will have no power to determine city policy.
Frank Medina will join the health and education commission and Julian Zatarain will be working with the parks and recreation commission.
Both are young men who Pineda says have a long history of volunteering for the city and the undocumented community.
The 32-year-old councilman says he picked these two men, first and foremost, for their accomplishments and because he promised voters on the campaign trail he’d create opportunities for the city’s sizable undocumented immigrant demographic.
“We need to make sure that we bring everyone together to the table here in Huntington Park so that we can make sure we’re sharing the same vision,” said Pineda.
City Mayor Karina Macias threw her support behind the appointments.
The appointments won’t be official until processed by the council and Medina and Zatarain pass a Live Scan background check.
Pineda says the move is historic, and would make Huntington Park the first city to have undocumented immigrants on city commissions.

Appointing illegal aliens to any position in government or business or otherwise is so WRONG, there are no words for it. It makes as much sense as appointing a member of ISIS to the US Counterterrorism Committee.
