Scene of Pharr Wreck Cleared

PHARR -A Pharr intersection is back open, after a wreck this morning that sent two people to the hospital. A total of three vehicles were towed from the intersection of South Cage Boulevard and Ridge Road.

We’re told a white Chrysler 300 crashed into a Ford Taurus around 8:15 a.m. Border Patrol agents, state troopers and other law enforcement agencies were chasing the driver in the Chrysler.

Border Patrol agents first tried to stop the vehicle near the Anzalduas International Bridge in Mission around 7:45 a.m. Agents said the driver was about to load people into the vehicle. Some Border Patrol agents pursued the driver; others remained in the area and detained three suspected illegal immigrants.

The chase ended in the crash in Pharr. The driver of the Chrysler and a woman in the Taurus were both taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

A state trooper vehicle at the scene overheated and was also towed.
