Police Arrest Woman On Money Laundering Charges

CAMERON COUNTY - State authorities have arrested Aurora Lopez and charged her with money laundering.

She was featured in a special investigation on search and seizure.

The Drug Enforcement Agency searched her house and produce company in San Benito last fall. They found close to $150,000 in cash buried in her back yard. They also seized the families farm equipment and trucks.

The family and their lawyers deny any wrongdoing and say they don't believe federal agents had the right to seize the money or equipment without a warrant.
