Police find driver asleep at the wheel
A man whom officers said they found asleep behind the wheel was arrested for public intoxication and possession of a counterfeit Social Security card.
Francisco Javier Martinez, 36, of Caldwell was awakened by Bryan police officers in the 200 block of South Sims Street late Sunday. Martinez's car still was turned on when officers found him in the street facing north, according to the police report.
After searching him, officers found Martinez to be in possession of a counterfeit Social Security card, the report states.
He remained in the Brazos County Jail late Monday without bail because of an immigration hold. Tampering with a government document is a Class A misdemeanor punishable by up to one year in jail and a $4,000 fine.
Public intoxication is a Class C misdemeanor punishable by a $500 fine.
