CORPUS CHRISTI — A 17-year-old girl was stabbed Thursday night after an altercation with a gang member, according to Corpus Christi police.

The victim told police that a person she knows as "Billy" was mad at her for disrespecting a local street gang by not joining. When she left the confrontation, she told police he said, "Now you will see what happens."

Just after 7:30 p.m., she was jumped by two women in a gray car on the 5700 block of Cain Drive, according to police. One stabbed her in the stomach. The victim grabbed at the knife and was cut on the hand. The two suspects left the scene soon after.

The victim is expected to recover from her injuries. The two suspects are facing aggravated assault charges.
