Suspect in attack on brothers arrested

Eagle Staff Report

A College Station man accused of assaulting two men with a knife remained in jail without bail Wednesday night.

College Station police said they were called to the Polo Club Apartments on Dominik Drive on Tuesday in response to a fight.

When officers arrived, a pair of brothers told them they had been injured by a man with a knife. One brother had a cut on his face near his right ear, and the other had a cut on his wrist, according to the police report.

The men directed officers to an apartment where they said the attacker had gone. Seven men inside the apartment denied knowledge of the fight but agreed to let officers search the apartment.

Officers reported finding bloody clothes in a bag under a sink with an identification card for Julian Yax Perez, 24.

One of the men in the apartment told police that Perez was his brother and told officers where he was, according to the police report. Officers said they found Perez with a bruised face, marks on his arms and bloody hands.

Perez was booked into the Brazos County Jail on two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second-degree felony punishable by up to 20 years behind bars.

He was being held without bail because of an immigration hold.
