LAREDO, Tx.- A Laredoan driving a vehicle with dark tinted windows was arrested by Border Patrol as they discovered that he carried 5 undocumented immigrants.

Albertico Gamboa was taken into custody after being intercepted by migratory agents on mile 18 and interstate highway 35.

Gamboa was in a Ford Windstar that seemed to have excess weight and federal officials decided to stop the suspicious vehicle.

When officers drove next to the driver of the Windstar they noticed he seemed nervous and on mile 27 the driver tried to exit the highway.

Border Patrol agents followed the Windstar and then stopped it, and upon inspect the interior of the van they found 5 people inside. The immigrants said they were Mexicans, and all of them were headed to San Antonio and that they had paid 1,500 dollars to be transported.

Wouldn't they all be charged with smuggling? The illegals paid to have themselves smuggled into the US and should also be charged.

I'd bet the twisted logic of the new DHS directives regarding IAs only considers them as "the smuggled" and as such they have been victimized there by becoming eligible for "special considerations."
