TYSON FOODS USING E-VERIFY
Tyson Foods Using E-Verify
Wednesday, November 12, 2008, 10:18 AM
The corporate team at Tyson Foods took a recent plant tour as an opportunity to communicate their hiring practices. The company employs more than 100,000 people with more than $26 billion in sales. With the recent string of Immigration and Customs Enforcement raids at poultry packing plants, Tyson said it employs only documented workers.
"Tyson does not employ unauthorized workers," Cathy Johnson, vice-president of employment compliance, told The Courier in Russellville, Ark.
"Every single person that we employ, their information is entered into the Department of Homeland Security's E-Verify program," she added. "That allows us to ensure that everybody that we employ is employment authorized."
E-Verify is an Internet based system operated by the Department of Homeland Security in partnership with the Social Security Administration that allows participating employers to electronically verify the employment eligibility of their newly hired employees.

This should be advertised far and wide so that more businesses and employers will see that it works, it's cheap and it's reliable as a tool to shield themselves from illegal practices and liability.

Can this be verified? I have been boycotting anything Tyson for years. If this is true I may want to reconsider the boycott.

This story is complete BS. The plant near downtown Ft Worth hires illegals. My neighbor is illegal, and he works there. I used to manage a drug store in a hispanic neighborhood and 2 of my employees dads worked there. I asked her how many illegal immigrants they had working there and she said most of them. If this were true, then I would be seeing fewer illegals. Instead, I see more and more.
