CORPUS CHRISTI — U.S. Border Patrol agents rescued six illegal immigrants Wednesday from the brush near Falfurrias and another nine the Thursday morning.

The Brooks County Sheriff's Office received an emergency call Wednesday evening saying a group was lost in the brush, had run out of food and water and needed assistance, a news release stated.

A Texas Department of Public Safety helicopter helped locate the immigrants, three of whom were children. Two adults requested medical attention and were taken to a hospital for evaluation, officials said.

In a separate incident, Falfurrias agents rescued a group of nine people Thursday morning in the brush. One fell ill and needed medical attention. A medical technician provided first aid until an ambulance arrived and took the person to a nearby hospital.

All will be processed and returned to their country of origin, the border patrol reported.
