U.S.Border Patrol Weekly Blotter: Nov. 25, 2009

(11/25/2009)Border Patrol agents seized over 12,711 pounds of marijuana. Agents arrested 12 criminal aliens and 11 gang members. There were 7 rocking incidents.

El Centro Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Calexico, California. Records checks revealed the subject had a prior conviction for sex with a minor and had been previously removed from the United States.

Laredo Sector – A Border Patrol agent was assaulted by an illegal alien from Honduras near Laredo, Texas.

The subject became combative during his arrest and struck the agent. The agent deployed his Oleo Capsicum spray and subdued his assailant without further incident.

Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Nogales, Arizona. Records checks revealed the subject had a prior conviction for soliciting sex and indecency with a child, public sexual indecency, and obstructing government operations in the State of Alaska. He had also been previously removed from the United States.

Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Honduras near Rio Grande City, Texas. Records checks revealed the subject was a Mara Salvatrucha 13 (MS-13) gang member and had been previously removed from the United States.


Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested two illegal aliens from Mexico near Douglas, Arizona. During processing, both subjects admitted to being Sureño 13 gang members. Records checks revealed both subjects had extensive criminal histories and had been previously removed from the United States.


Yuma Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Wikieup, Arizona. Records checks revealed the subject was an MS-13 gang member and had been previously removed from the United States.

Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 4,334 pounds of marijuana and a tractor-trailer near Combes, Texas. Agents received information that the truck contained contraband. A Border Patrol canine alerted to the trailer and a subsequent search revealed 183 bundles of marijuana concealed in multiple sealed crates.


Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 2,068 pounds of marijuana and a 2002 Chevrolet pickup after responding to a report of an abandoned vehicle near Santa Rosa, Arizona. Agents located the vehicle and discovered the marijuana inside.


Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Bisbee, Arizona. Records checks revealed the subject had a prior conviction for indecent liberties in the State of Washington and had been previously removed from the United States.


Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Bisbee, Arizona. Records checks revealed the subject had a prior conviction for sexual intercourse with a minor in the State of California and had been previously removed from the United States.

El Paso Sector – Border Patrol agents assisted local law enforcement officers in the arrest of a United States Citizen (USC) who was involved in a stabbing near San Elizario, Texas. Agents responded to the last known location of the subject, a Barrio Azteca gang member, and arrested him after a foot chase.


Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested two illegal aliens, seized 1,138 pounds of marijuana, and recovered a stolen 2004 Chevrolet near Palmview, Texas. Agents attempted a vehicle stop and the driver failed to yield. All occupants absconded after the vehicle became disabled. Agents discovered several bundles of marijuana inside the vehicle and subsequently apprehended two subjects suspected of being involved with the narcotics.


Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Casa Grande, Arizona. During processing, the subject admitted to being a Sureño 13 gang member. Records checks revealed he also had a prior conviction for indecent liberty with a child and had been previously removed from the United States.


Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 860 pounds of marijuana and two vehicles near Douglas, Arizona. During the seizure, Border Patrol agents were assaulted by approximately 20 subjects throwing rocks. Agents deployed less lethal munitions, but the assault continued. At that time, a Border Patrol agent discharged his Service handgun at his attackers. The assailants broke off their attack and fled into Mexico.


Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Naco, Arizona. Records checks revealed the subject had a prior conviction for sex with a minor and strong arm rape in the State of California. He had also been previously removed from the United States.


Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Tucson, Arizona. Records checks revealed the subject had a prior conviction for lewd and lascivious acts on a child in the State of California and had been previously removed from the United States.

San Diego Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested three illegal aliens from Mexico near Imperial Beach, California. During the arrest, one subject became combative and an agent deployed his Oleo Capsicum spray to subdue the subject. The subject was transported to a local hospital where he was found to be under the influence of heroin and marijuana.


Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Sonoita, Arizona. Records checks revealed the subject had a prior conviction for rape in the State of Michigan and had been previously removed from the United States.

Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 2,062 pounds of marijuana and a 2004 Chevrolet truck near Casa Grande, Arizona. Agents discovered the narcotics in the abandoned truck.


Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested 21 illegal aliens and seized a 1997 Chevrolet Blazer near Rio Rico, Arizona. Agents observed suspicious activity at a residence and performed a vehicle stop on the Blazer after it left the property. Seven illegal aliens were encountered inside the vehicle, and 14 illegal aliens were discovered inside the residence after a search warrant was served.

Del Rio Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Langtry, Texas. During processing, the subject admitted to being a Paisa gang member. Records checks revealed he was also a Barrio Sixty Street gang member and had been previously removed from the United States.


El Paso Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near El Paso, Texas. During processing, the subject admitted to being a Barrio Azteca gang member. Records checks revealed he had been previously removed from the United States.


Laredo Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 1,025 pounds of marijuana, a Ford F-250 pickup truck, and arrested two USCs near Encinal, Texas. Agents observed the vehicle drive through a ranch gate and later discovered the vehicle abandoned. A Border Patrol canine alerted to the vehicle and a subsequent search revealed 35 bundles of marijuana. A search of the area by agents revealed the two subjects.


Marfa Sector – Border Patrol agents recovered a stolen truck, a stolen rifle, and arrested a national of Mexico near Dryden, Texas. The subject and the stolen property were turned over to local law enforcement authorities.


Marfa Sector – Border Patrol agents seized a small amount of marijuana, a 1989 Toyota Camry, a .45 caliber Glock 21 handgun, and arrested a USC at the traffic checkpoint near Sierra Blanca, Texas. The subject presented himself for inspection and a Border Patrol canine alerted to the vehicle. A subsequent search revealed the items in a duffel bag.


Marfa Sector – Border Patrol agents seized a small amount of marijuana, a 2008 Subaru Impreza, a .45 caliber Taurus revolver, a 9mm Fratelli Tanfoglio handgun, and arrested a USC at the traffic checkpoint near Sierra Blanca, Texas. The subject presented himself for inspection and a Border Patrol canine alerted to the vehicle. A subsequent search revealed the items in a luggage bag.
