Those fools can never report anything related to this topic without including the "nation of immigrants" crap.

"We are a nation of immigrants," said Elaine Lacy, professor of history and director of the Consortium for Latino Immigration Studies at the University of South Carolina. Lacy pointed out that immigration patterns have and will continue to "occur over and over again" in the United States.
The pattern that needs to occur now is the pattern exemplified by the late 1800's- EXCLUSION. Yes, exclusion is part of our immigration history, but the enemy portrays this as an aberration, as merely "racist" interludes that do not count and served no purpose other than "racism". But the US has a right to exclude who it wants, as the Supreme Court properly recognized in 1889 in Chae Chan Ping v. US. The government's power to exclude aliens from its territory is inherent in the nature of nationhood. So if someone wants to say "nation of immigrants", they should remember that most important part of that is "nation". A nation has the right- in fact the need- to control the size of its population, and even the makeup of its population. A nation also has the right to punish people for treason.. and anyone who aids an illegal (or even abused legal) invasion of our country should not escape that description. It is destroying our nation and helping no one other than a renegade group of employers who have no regard for this nation, its tradition, or its citizens.

I always love how they spin it "We are a nation of immigrants".

Yes, that may be true, but back then people entered the country legally. Seems they have forgotten about Ellis Island and what people had to go through to get into this country. If it worked back then, why not use it again. Everyone should get the same treatment and no exceptions!

"Processing" - from the link listed above:

This section describes step-by-step what most new arrivals experienced on Ellis Island. The opening of Ellis Island began a new era of restriction in the history of immigration. Here, the inspectors determined each newcomer's eligibility to land according to United States law. For the vast majority of immigrants, Ellis Island meant three to five hours of waiting for a brief medical and legal examination. For others, it meant a longer stay with additional testing or a legal hearing. For an unfortunate 2 percent, it meant exclusion and a return trip to the homeland.
