U.S. passport production in full swing
U.S. passport production in full swing

The U.S. Department of State is in full production of the long-awaited passport cards.
If you're heading out of the country, starting June 1, 2009 travel laws will change.
"You will have no other way to get in or out of the country by land and by sea unless you present a document which establishes both your identity and your citizenship. A passport card and, of course, a passport book are the ways you'll be the way you do that," says Brenda Sprague with the State Department.
Sprague says a passport card is a cheaper way to go, for some U.S. citizens.
"For U.S. citizens who are leaving the country by land or sea and traveling within the Western hemisphere particularly Mexico, Canada, the Caribbean and Bermuda."
If you don't have a passport already, the card will cost you about $45.
