Eleazar Flores-Lopez, 37, received an 11-year prison sentence in Montgomery County Common Pleas Court, WHIO reports. He was previously convicted of one count of aggravated possession of drugs, according to WHIO.

Flores-Lopez and his brother were arrested in October 2014 following a traffic stop, WHIO reports. A K-9 unit alerted to the car during the stop, and police found over eight pounds of methamphetamine.

Police believe Flores-Lopez and his brother were smuggling the drugs from Mexico, according to WHIO. However, the man was cleared of an aggravated drug trafficking charge, jail records show.

Flores-Lopez had been deported several times by the federal government before his 2014 arrest, Montgomery County Prosecutor Mat Heck told WHIO.
