US marshals arrest 154 fugitives in West Texas

The Associated Press
EL PASO, Texas —
Authorities say 154 fugitives wanted for federal and state felonies have been arrested by the U.S. Marshal Service and officers from 13 other law enforcement agencies.
The roundup came during Operation Sandstorm III. West Texas U.S. Marshal Robert Almonte says 41 arrests came between June 3 and June 6 when the number of agents the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force went from 21 to 112.
Operation Sandstorm III began on May 6.
Almonte says that unlike previous operations, officers and agents focused on "the worst of the worst" to have more "quality arrests instead of quantity."
Among those arrested were fugitives wanted for assault, child abuse and arson, as well as a man wanted for murder in Mexico and six undocumented immigrants found when a warrant was being served.
