US preparing integrated plan on Mexico drug war

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The U.S. government is working on an integrated plan to address Mexico's escalating war with drug traffickers and could complete work on the initiative as early as this week, a top U.S. military official said Tuesday.

Air Force Gen. Gene Renuart, who oversees U.S. military interests on both sides of the U.S.-Mexican border as the head of Northern Command, told the Senate that the plan would likely involve all agencies of government including law enforcement and the military.

The military is already employing border security techniques mastered in the war zones of Iraq and Afghanistan, including unmanned aerial vehicles and technology capable of locating underground tunnels.

But an interagency government team, meeting this week at the Department of Homeland Security, is expected to produce a broad new initiative to confront a drug war that has killed thousands in Mexico and spilled over into U.S. cities such as Phoenix in a surge of kidnappings and other gang-related violence.

“This is a whole of government problem and I think the best response is an integrated approach and we're working toward that aggressively,â€

This allegedly has been planned for sometime.........The border war is staged so that our Gov't can get our troops on US soil to eventually use against us..............perhaps when they try to put Amnesty into effect, our troops will be used to restore order.

We have 37,000 troops in South Korea guarding their border who would be better off here on our border
to stop the invasion of our country by MILLIONS of illegal aliens and other criminals from Mexico.

Gen. Gene Renuart indeed is the head of North Com, and in charge of the thousands of battle hardened combat troops who were trained in house-to-house urban warfare and weapon searches in Iraq. You may remember some 20,000 of these troops were "repositioned" here in the US last year as rapid response teams in case of "national emergencies".

While I not overly concerned about these fine military men and women being sent to the border to defend our country, I am concerned that they will be serving at duty stations on the southern side of the Rio Grande, and that should not be allowed to happen. Congress should immediately step in with a mandate to not only prohibit our military from crossing over into Mexico physically (firing rounds across is OK if it comes to that), but also to confine the scope of operations to a outer northern perimeter of not more than 20 miles from the border. We do not need a military action spilling over into the rest of the country, and that needs to be clearly defined by Congressional action immediately.

I find that the BBC and other foreign news outlets often provide Americans with more details than our own press. Of course that comes as no real surprise, given that a wealthy minority interest controls our media and what truth (if any) actually sees the light of day.
