I think the point is not that they should not have been deported for being a good family. The point is that authorities quickly detain and deport ethnic groups other than Mexicans and especially those who are trying to do everything by the book and fail. For example, this family didn't hide, they applied for asylum and they did not protest or have special interest groups protecting them. Non-Mexican illegal immigrants seem to be easy targets for deportation shows and who knows how many anchor babies end up working for immigration and want to make examples of non-Mexican citizens by deporting more of them than their own nationalities. Yes, all who break U.S. immigration laws are subject to being deported so why are there millions of illegal Mexicans still here?

Actually lagalalien, I would say, we understand the situation going on here. That is why so many of us wonder WHY it is the HISPANICS that get catered to and law enforcement going out of their way NOT TO RETAIN many of them even when committing smaller crimes.

If they are ILLEGAL ,then they need to be deported according to our federal laws. The laws need to be enforced for ALL. And I do not care what the HISPANIC community thinks.

If they are illegals then they are not only criminals. They are THEIVES!

Let us hope with the new year around tha corner that many of these things start to change with a newly elected team in power now.

We are coming quickly to a showdown on this whole issue. Our economy is in shambles, entire states like California are bankrupt and millions of illegals are gaming the system to the detriment of legal citizens. Something has to give! Politicians may try to play their pandering games but in the end it all comes down to the law and how much American citizens are willing to put up with. We need to draw a line in the sand and hold ALL politicians accountable! Let's see if the new batch of elected officials will do right by the American people.
