Vatican agency calls US Immigration restrictions violent and

Vatican agency denounces 'ineffectiveness and violence' of US immigration restrictions
    January 05, 2009

In a harsh denunciation of US immigration policies, the Fides news service-- an arm of the Vatican's Congregation for Evangelization-- has praised the US bishops' conference for opposing "the ineffectiveness and violence" of border-security measures, particularly the fence proposed for the Mexican border. Fides, which usually restricts its coverage to news of missionary fields, has issued a lengthy dossier on US immigration issues. The 12-page document charges that efforts to block illegal immigration from Mexico have "increased the number of persons killed while attempting to cross the border line, enriched human traffickers (smugglers), encouraged in total ambiguity employers who apply norms similar to those of dependence in a regime of slavery, strangle illegal workers with a starvation wage and massacring working-hours, under the blackmail of non-existence."

    1. The Vatican might want to explain why it has a wall around itself

    2. The Vatican is basically saying we need more money in the collection plates

    3. Slim Pickings are the phrase of the day for lack of New Alter Boys

    4. The Vatican is better served telling Mexicans to stop breaking our laws and to be Good Christians in they're Home Country

Maybe it is time they stop analyzing the United States and take a hard look at Mexico.

How about they reprimand the Mexican government for not taking care of their own citizens and slap the hands of the Mexican citizens crouching on their hands and knee's to crawl across our border and usurp our sovereignty and break our laws.

to the Catholic Church......WE ARE A SOVEREIGN NATION AND WE ARE NOT GIVING UP OUR SOVEREIGNTY!!!!! YOUR BARKING UP THE WRONG TREE!!

Amazing at the nerve of these purported holy men. The motive for this abomination of a position means perhaps nothing more than the many Americans have left the church and their income has been reduced so they need faithful illegals to swell the ranks and tithe to the church. They have already proven they are above the laws of this country (shielding Elvira Allerano, for example) and now criticizing this country for even having laws to protect our citizens.
With the way they have twisted truth to fit their own needs, thinking it is not obvious, their interpretation of the Bible also begins to take on a taint of the querulous.

You know that Vatican City is actually a country. Vatican's Elite Swiss Guard. You know they are not just sissies in frilly pants, and that they are actually part of the trained millitary that carry SIG pistols and assault rifles.

What's the difference between the guard and the Border Patrol? Hmmm.

For some reason Hypocrite comes to mind. Who are they trying to fool?

Seems the Vatican needs to answer why people are starving in the world and they have this wonderful setting to congregate in

    Vatican City

    history & facts
Vatican City is is the smallest independent country in the world and is the governmental capital of the Catholic Church.
In 1929, under the premiership of Mussolini, the Vatican became officially an independent state.
The size of the Vatican is about 44 hectares and about 932 citizens live inside.
Besides St. Peter's Square, the entire state is walled.

The St Peter's Basilica, erected over the tomb of St Peter the Apostle, is the largest religious building in the world.
The Head of the Vatican is the Pope. The current Pope is Benedict XVI, born as Joseph Ratzinger.

    location
Vatican City is a bit out of the center of Rome on the other side of the river.
Two metro stations are near the Vatican: Ottaviano and Cipro/Musei-Vaticani.

    St. Peter's Square
Everybody can walk here; entrance from the public street. No clothes regulation.
There is free admission to Basilica. Stairs to the dome 3.50€; elevator to the dome 4€.
When we visited the St. Peter's Square, there was a long queue for the Basilica.

    The Vatican Museums
Be prepared to wait a long time before you can enter the museum (picture to the right).
After having an early breakfast, we took the metro to Ottaviano station and queued at 8.12.
It took us 1.5 hour to get into the museum.
The line behind us grew rapidly; the waiting time for those people would be at least 2 hours.
Besides the waiting time, the temperature is in the afternoon much higher than in the morning.
Our visit to the Vatican was July 24, 2006. Admission was around €11.

    clothes regulation
To enter the St Peter's Basilica, people must first pass a security control and behind it is the control of your clothes. Shorts or a short skirt are allowed but must be 'decent'. Not too short and certainly not transparent.
Control in the Vatican Museum seems less strictly. I saw a woman inside with very long hair wearing a sexy hot-pants. The majority of the men however had changed their shorts for long trousers.

Exactly. These Swiss pikemen, aka continental Beefeaters, now carry service pistols and Heckler & Koch submachine-guns. Hypocrite is an understatement. But Bishop Taylor and his Catholic handlers do what's necessary to (ahem) beef up attendance and collection plates.
