EL PASO, Texas (AP) - Customs officers in El Paso drilled into the floor of what appeared to be an empty truck trailer and discovered nearly one ton of marijuana.

Authorities on Thursday announced the seizure involves 1,922 pounds of pot with a street value topping $1.9 million.

The marijuana was discovered Wednesday night, with help from a drug-sniffing dog, during a search at the Ysleta Port of Entry commercial cargo facility.

Customs authorities say 1,681 marijuana-filled bundles were removed from hidden compartments in the floor of the trailer, being hauled from Mexico.

No arrests were immediately made.
